AzHONORS Program

KAMS offers our students an opportunity to be a part of our AzHONORS classes in the subjects of ELA and Math.  These classes are designed to challenge the students with higher level curriculum and activities.  These classes are taught at a faster pace and cover more material than the traditional classes.  They might also offer different novels and writing prompts in ELA.

 

Students are assigned to the AzHONORS classes at the start of each based on their scores on the Arizona State Assessment Tests, iReady Benchmark Tests, previous years grades, and teacher recommendations.  Consideration is also given to a students involvement in school events and extra-curricular activities.

 

AzHONORS spots are very limited and highly competitive.  Because of the nature of these classes, we do not move students into this program during the school year.
